You'd think this kind of confrontation would happen in the Deep South, or the Bible Belt in the Mid-West. Not in Toronto. But it's time somebody stood up and said, not here. People certainly have a right to pray, even publicly. But there's a fine line between persuasion and being a bully.

Good for the neighbors. I would not have been so nice with the churcheys.
It seems pretty unlikely that the church group was targetting the gay couple.
To begin with, people who are campaigning agaist gay relationships are rarely reluctant to say exactly what they're doing. They tend to be proud of it. They'd also have to know that the residents were gay. How exactly would they know that? It also seem as though that they've been doing prayer walks for some time. If so, they're not exactly targeting one couple.
I'm not sure if the church group was being as understanding as they should have been, (I wasn't there after all and I don't know anyone involved), but you're going to get disagreements like this in a pluralist society.
