This new commercial from Wayne LaPierre of the NRA sets an all-time low. You can be absolutely sure that this ad would not have been made if Obama and his kids were white. I'm showing it here to demonstrate just how low the level of debate has gotten in Washington -- and how willing LaPierre is in spitting in the faces of the murdered and the survivors of Sandy Hook.
It's worth remembering when the idiot called federal law-enforced "jack booted thugs" way back in 1995, no less than the elder George Bush was so disgusted that he quit the NRA (in a hell freezes over moment). It's about damn time someone in Congress -- or even Dubya -- gets that backbone too.

That's astonishing. As a gun owner I have been troubled by the popularity of AR-15 and AK-47 assault rifles in the United States. They're not target rifles. They're almost useless for hunting. They're designed for the sole purpose of putting bullets through people, a lot of bullets through many people.
But there's no stopping the NRA until the American people come to their senses.
