Really, Palin? "Blood libel"?

When I heard about it earlier today, that Sarah Palin used the term "blood libel" to savage her critics who have suggested her rhetoric may have been a contributing factor in last weekend's terrible events in Tucson, I thought, she can't possibly be that stupid.   Then I heard her actual comments, verbatim, from her own lips, from her vodcast, broadcast tonight on CBC Radio One's As It Happens.    And yes, she did use the words "blood libel" -- a reference to the completely false claim that Jews sacrificed children to obtain blood used in their religious rituals.  Something which led to centuries of persecution of God's Chosen People.

Reading it is one thing.   Actually hearing it for myself is quite another.   And sadly, by attempting to clearly disassociate herself from the massacre (which she did plausibly well, I have to admit) but then make matters even worse by using those two words ... she's proven if she didn't already that she is completely unacceptable as a serious candidate for any national office in the US, now or in the future.   Even Dubya wouldn't have been that stupid.   And that is saying something.

Harvard Law Professor
Alan Dershowitz:

"The term “blood libel” has taken on a broad metaphorical meaning in public discourse. Although its historical origins were in theologically based false accusations against the Jews and the Jewish People, its current usage is far broader. I myself have used it to describe false accusations against the State of Israel by the Goldstone Report. There is nothing improper and certainly nothing anti-Semitic in Sarah Palin using the term to characterize what she reasonably believes are false accusations that her words or images may have caused a mentally disturbed individual to kill and maim. The fact that two of the victims are Jewish is utterly irrelevant to the propriety of using this widely used term."

Before the bodies even hit the floor, the “progressive” media already were blaming their strongest enemies, Palin and FOX news. The sheriff was more intent on auditioning for the Democratic party than actually investigating this event. Fact is the fool was more left/independent, dope smoking loser than some tea-bagging Beck fan but the media is off that story. They have no facts to stand on but if they can spew up enough crap, maybe some of it will stick.

You really thing this guy and the CBC care about the truth?

If there were no Conservatives, there could be no progressives seeing how the leftists only criticize Conservatives.

When was the last time you seen a progressive criticize China or Cuba.

People get locked up for saying something so in theory the left should be attacking China and Cuba.

Instead, only the USA is the focus of progressives because they know if they destroy the USA from within, global governance and the New world Order will be realized.

Progressives want a world where everyone leaves equally. Equally poor that is.
