One of the problems with conservative supports of the Republican party is that they have been trying to find a good conservative candidate. They've also questioned whether or not McCain is conservative enough for them.
One the flip side, Democratic Party supporters have not needed to question the ideology of Clinton, Obama or the previous candidates.
It seems as if Republicans want a candidate for conservatives; the Democrats want a candidate for Americans.
